Happy Valentine's Day!

Classroom One had such a fun Valentine's week!

Leading up to Valentine's Day the children worked on their fine motor skills cutting out hearts, punching holes and lacing. Some kids used these as Valentine's cards for friends, others took them home for moms and dads, grandparents and siblings!

On the 14th children brought in homemade Valentine's done with their parents, or ones they had bought and customized. They were given the opportunity to deliver those Valentine's one on one with a teacher, even going around the school to deliver to teachers in other classrooms, bus drivers and bus attendants!

The teacher read a book about how love is the greatest gift of all and it was so sweet to see each child recognize that THEY are a gift to their families and friends, everyone was smiling!

In the afternoon the children decorated sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles. Many of them made cookie sandwiches and ate them all, while a few others ate one and saved the second one for someone in their family.

Every day at One World we do our best to show these children that we love them, but this was an extra special day to take advantage of the celebration and show a bit of extra love!
