Vertical Painting

Classroom 2 has been experimenting with painting on vertical surfaces. We put tables on top of tables, flat sides together, and wrapped plastic wrap around the legs of the table. This made a see-through painting surface. The children were very excited to try this new vertical surface for painting. They got started right away and we made big “X’s” across their bodies for bilateral movement and circles for large arm movements. These large body actions help with the children’s development and provides readiness for going left to right which helps with reading. This activity was a big hit and we will be doing it again soon.
